German companies at trade fairs worldwide
The German Pavilion refers to the official joint exhibit for German companies to present at trade fairs worldwide as part of the Foreign Trade Fair Participation Programmes of Germany, with German companies presenting their products and services under the "Made in Germany" umbrella brand.
The German economy’s most important and effective export marketing tools include participation in overseas trade fairs and exhibitions. Foreign trade fairs provide a platform for buying and selling, forging new contacts and sharing information, and creating new joint ventures and making investments abroad.
Offering participation in selected trade fairs and exhibitions outside Germany, the Federal Republic of Germany – as represented by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) – has laid the groundwork for German companies to use this marketing tool to boost export business. This contributes to long-term sustainability in turnover as well as jobs in exports.
Foreign trade fair participations are selected in cooperation with Germany’s Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA), which coordinates economic interests while taking the special interests of small and medium-sized enterprises into account.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) include around 250 and 40 trade fairs, respectively, in their foreign trade fair participation programmes each year.
