Pour produire et exploiter les données recueillies par les grands instruments au sol et dans l’espace, l’OCA met en œuvre une approche globale combinant théorie, modélisation, observation, analyse et constitution de banques de données.
L’OCA contribue à son environnement sociétal en transmettant les questionnements et les développements de la science qu’il produit aujourd’hui. D’une part, les laboratoires dont l’OCA est tutelle contribuent activement à la formation universitaire à l’Université Côte d’Azur, à tous les niveaux, depuis la licence jusqu’au doctorat. D’autre part, l’OCA est très impliqué dans sa mission de diffusion des connaissances vers tous les publics, profitant de la combinaison unique entre son patrimoine exceptionnel et les recherches contemporaines.
