Our generation is the most educated and technological ever, thanks to the many opportunities offered by globalization and digitalization. Yet, we are in a historical era full of contradictions: well-being is increasing, but at the same time inequalities are growing. Unlike the post-war period, today's economic progress has weakened the middle class and has caused wealth to be concentrated in a few geographical areas.
In Italy, fewer and fewer young people from low-income families have the opportunity to continue their studies or pursue a desired profession. In recent decades, in particular, the gap in opportunities has widened and a rift has emerged within Italian cities: residential areas and peripheral neighborhoods appear as alien realities due to a series of factors that are not only economic, but also social and political.
We are sure that in the schools of these neighborhoods there are many motivated students ready to build a better future, for themselves and for their community. Every Italian boy has the right to realize his dreams, or at least to have the means to try. For this reason, we are ready to work with young people, enhancing those marginal areas, in crisis, that have the potential to become polyphemus, lively communities full of opportunities.Original language

La nostra generazione è la più istruita e tecnologica di sempre, grazie alle tantissime opportunità offerte dalla globalizzazione e dalla digitalizzazione. Eppure, siamo in un’epoca storica ricca di contraddizioni: aumenta il benessere, ma allo stesso tempo crescono le disuguaglianze. Al contrario del dopoguerra, il progresso economico odierno ha indebolito la classe media e ha fatto sì che la ricchezza si concentrasse in poche aree geografiche.
In Italia, sempre meno giovani provenienti da famiglie a basso reddito hanno la possibilità di proseguire gli studi o di svolgere la professione ambita. Negli ultimi decenni, in particolare, si è accentuato il divario di opportunità e si è disegnata una spaccatura interna alle città italiane: aree residenziali e quartieri periferici appaiono come realtà estranee per una serie di fattori non soltanto economici, ma sociali e politici.
Siamo sicuri che nelle scuole di questi quartieri ci siano tanti studenti motivati e pronti a costruire un futuro migliore, per se stessi e per la propria comunità. Ogni ragazzo italiano ha il diritto di realizzare i propri sogni, o almeno di avere i mezzi per provarci. Per questo siamo pronti a lavorare con i giovani, valorizzando quelle aree marginali, in crisi, che hanno il potenziale di diventare poliferie, comunità vive e ricche di opportunità.
