For the past 30 years, the 2041 Foundation’s mission has been the preservation of Antarctica, the polar regions, and our planet. 2041’s founder, Robert Swan OBE, is the first man to walk to the North and South Poles and has raised awareness about the dangers of climate change to countless students, policy-makers, and business leaders through high-profile recycling initiatives, sustainability challenges and clean energy voyages. In 2018, the South Pole Energy Challenge (SPEC), spearheaded by Robert and completed by his son Barney, became the first trek to the South Pole powered exclusively by renewable energy.
2041 was founded by polar explorer, environmental leader and public speaker Robert Swan, OBE, the first person in history to walk to both the North and South Poles. Swan has dedicated his life to the preservation of Antarctica by the promotion of recycling, renewable energy and sustainability to combat the effects of climate change.
