La Asociación de Proveedores Industriales de la Minería, APRIMIN, fue fundada en diciembre de 2003 por un grupo de altos ejecutivos de empresas proveedoras de bienes y servicios para promover el desarrollo y progreso de la industria proveedora de la minería, velando por el estricto cumplimiento de las normas éticas, comerciales y de libre competencia que rigen la actividad de sus asociados.
Inicialmente, APRIMIN contó con 23 asociados y transcurridos 19 años desde su creación, hoy está integrada por 121 empresas, las que en conjunto dan empleo directo a 170 mil personas e indirecto a más de 350 mil, con una facturación a nivel nacional superior a los 13.500 millones de dólares anuales.
Hoy es importante destacar que de estas 121 empresas, 68 son de origen nacional y 53 internacionales.
