Tra il 1928 e il 1946 il nome della testata subisce una serie di variazioni (“Corriere Prealpino” - dal 26 Aprile 1945 al 31 Agosto 1946, “Il Nuovo Corriere Prealpino” - dal 1° al 30 Settembre 1946), per assumere la denominazione ufficiale, ancora oggi in uso, a partire dal 1° Ottobre 1946.
    Originariamente quotidiano di riferimento in ambito locale, a partire dagli anni ’80 del ‘900, si potenzia anche sul fronte dell’informazione nazionale ed estera, ampliando le proprie rubriche ed imponendosi all’attenzione di un bacino di lettori più ampio. L’essere contemporaneamente fonte minuziosa di notizie locali e testimone dei grandi fatti di cronaca e politica nazionale e internazionale, hanno costituito e costituiscono tutt’ora uno dei principali fattori di successo del giornale.
