Ocular Therapeutix, Inc. (NASDAQ:OCUL) is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the formulation, development, and commercialization of innovative therapies for diseases and conditions of the eye using its proprietary bioresorbable hydrogel-based formulation technology, ELUTYXTM. Ocular Therapeutix has built a robust product pipeline of drug delivery solutions developed to reduce the complexity and burden of the current standard of care and position itself to become a leader in the ophthalmic space. Ocular Therapeutix has a commercially available drug product, DEXTENZA® (dexamethasone ophthalmic insert) 0.4 mg, for intracanalicular use. DEXTENZA is an FDA-approved corticosteroid for the treatment of ocular inflammation and pain following ophthalmic surgery and for the treatment of ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis; the product is currently being marketed through a fully integrated specialty sales force. Ocular Therapeutix’s lead clinical program AXPAXLITM (axitinib intravitreal implant), also referenced as laboratory code OTX-TKI, is currently being developed to treat wet AMD and diabetic retinopathy; other indications may also be pursued in due course. Other clinical programs include PAXTRAVATM (travoprost intracameral implant), also referenced as laboratory code OTX-TIC, for intracameral injection, for the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in primary open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, OTX-CSI (cyclosporine ophthalmic insert) for intracanalicular use, for the chronic treatment of dry eye disease, and OTX-DED (dexamethasone ophthalmic insert) for intracanalicular use, for the short-term treatment of the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease.
