Crossing Literature, Cinema and Arts, Le Filaf has thus been able to welcome Jean-Michel Alberola, Roman Signer, Michel Houellebecq, Sophie Calle, Miquel Barcelo, Daniel Buren, Enrique Vila Mata, Juergen Teller, Bertrand Lavier, Kenneth Goldsmith or Annette Messenger in the past seven years.

Le Festival International du Livre d'Art et du Film (FILAF) a pour but de célébrer, diffuser et primer l’art à travers les livres et films produits à ce sujet. Festival indépendant, il a pour objectif de présenter au grand public une sélection des meilleurs livres et films sur l'art produits durant l'année écoulée à l'échelle internationale. Auteurs, éditeurs, réalisateurs, producteurs et artistes sélectionnés sont invités à Perpignan afin d’y présenter leur travail. Une semaine de conférences, projections, lectures, signatures, ateliers pour enfants, tables rondes professionnelles ou encore soirées thématiques permettent au monde de l’art de se retrouver et de présenter au grand public ses productions les plus importantes.
Le festival s’appuie sur un comité scientifique de professionnels indépendants, reconnus dans chacune de leur discipline, et responsable de la sélection tout au long de l'année. Il mobilise également un jury renouvelé annuellement qui, à l'issue du festival, remet entre autres le FILAF d'Or, le FILAF d'Argent et le Prix Spécial du Jury (catégories "livre" et "film").
