[Automatic translation follows] Opens young people to science and science to young people
The Open Science Association was born from field work undertaken since the early 90s in Seine-Saint-Denis: opening young people to science and science to young people as well as to citizens of all ages. The violence of November 2005 led to clarifying the goals of this work: it is currently part of a context of combating a feeling of confinement and helplessness that is too present in the territory and which maintains the vicious circle of a certain ghettoization.

• Long workshops (in class or out of class, from primary to higher education)
• Scientific internships for middle school, high school and university students (one to two weeks, about fifteen per year)
• Help with academic success and higher education (support and methodological assistance)
• Training (particularly for primary school teachers)
• Co-animation of a strong network of partners (in mathematics and scientific mediation)
In more than 15 years:
Mobilization and monitoring of a significant core of several hundred high school students who embark on higher education and succeed, thus serving as a benchmark for all the others.
Out of 274 results recorded for the 6-year baccalaureate (2017), we noted 195 AB or higher mentions, including 68 TB mentions. Even more surprising: 7 of our alumni were accepted at Polytechnique, 7 at the ENS (2 at Ulm), one at HEC Paris, one at Mines ParisTech, one is a graduate of the INSERM school. More than 90% continue their studies.
At the same time, in primary and secondary schools, the action in and out of the classroom aims to create spaces where, from a very young age, science appears in a fun, experimental and exploratory aspect; which puts it back in its place and restores interest and confidence (including through appropriate support) to those who practice it, or even teach it.

Ouvre les jeunes aux sciences et les sciences aux jeunes
L’Association Science Ouverte est née d’un travail de terrain entrepris depuis le début des années 90 en Seine-Saint-Denis : ouvrir les jeunes aux sciences et les sciences aux jeunes ainsi qu’aux citoyens de tous âges. Les violences de novembre 2005 ont amené à préciser les buts de ce travail : il s’inscrit actuellement dans un contexte de lutte contre un sentiment d’enfermement et d’impuissance trop présent sur le territoire et qui entretient le cercle vicieux d’une certaine ghettoïsation.
Activités :

• Ateliers longs (en classe ou hors classe, du primaire au supérieur)
• Stages scientifiques pour collégiens, lycéens et étudiants (une à deux semaines, une quinzaine par an)
• Aide à la réussite scolaire et aux études supérieures (soutien et aide méthodologique)
• Formations (notamment pour des enseignants de primaire)
• Co-animation d’un fort réseau de partenaires (en mathématiques, et en médiation scientifique)
En plus de 15 ans :
Mobilisation et suivi d’un noyau significatif de plusieurs centaines de lycéens qui s’engagent dans les études supérieures et y réussissent, pouvant servir ainsi de repère à l’ensemble des autres.
Sur 274 résultats recensés au baccalauréat en 6 ans (2017), nous relevons 195 mentions AB ou plus, dont 68 mentions TB. Plus étonnant encore : 7 de nos anciens ont été reçus à Polytechnique, 7 dans les ENS (2 à Ulm), une à HEC Paris, un à Mines ParisTech, un est lauréat de l’école de l’INSERM. Parallèlement, en primaire et en collège, l’action dans et hors la classe vise à impulser des espaces où, dès le plus jeune âge, les sciences apparaissent sous un aspect ludique, expérimental et exploratoire ; ce qui les remet à l’endroit et redonne intérêt et confiance (y compris grâce à un soutien adapté) à ceux qui les pratiquent, voire les enseignent.
