European network of rural communities committed to the energy transition
RURENER is the European network of rural territories committed to the energy transition. We have the vision of a European Union aware of the potential of its territories, and especially its rural territories, to boost the conduct of the energy transition. By addressing energy issues, we promote a transversal and integrated approach of rural development. Supported by our members’ experiences, we highlight the crucial role of rural territories to make the energy transition a reality in Europe, and we seek to spread the voices of these territories at the European level. The goals of the network are:
- To be the voice of rural territories in the fight against climate change
- To facilitate cooperation and the sharing of experiences between rural territories across Europe
- To give rural territories the tools to implement their energy strategy.
- To stimulate the mobilization of rural stakeholders towards the energy transition and energy neutrality

Réseau européen des territoires ruraux engagés dans la transition énergétique
RURENER est un réseau de territoires ruraux engagés dans la transition énergétique. Notre vision est celle d’une Europe consciente du potentiel de ses territoires, et notamment des territoires ruraux, pour la conduite de sa transition énergétique. Sous le prisme de l’enjeu énergétique, nous prônons une approche transversale du développement rural. En nous appuyant sur l’expérience des membres du réseau, nous souhaitons faire remonter à Bruxelles la voix des territoires ruraux et faire reconnaître leur importance pour faire face à l’enjeu de la transition énergétique.
Les principales missions de RURENER sont :
– Etre le porte-parole des territoires ruraux européens dans la lutte contre le changement climatique
– Permettre un échange de bonnes pratiques et une coopération concrète entre les territoires d’Europe
– Fournir des outils à ces territoires pour mettre en œuvre et piloter leur stratégie énergétique
– Promouvoir les innovations développées sur le terrain en termes technique, organisationnel et social
