Profitant des derniers rayons de soleil du mois d’août, le FFA célèbre depuis maintenant plus de 17 ans le cinéma francophone. Que ce soit dans les salles ou sur les places publiques, les films et leurs spectateurs envahissent pour cette occasion la cité des Valois.
Grâce à la volonté et à la passion de leurs créateurs Marie-France Brière et Dominique Besnehard, le festival défend un cinéma populaire et subtil qui enthousiasme les professionnels comme les amateurs, les néophytes comme les cinéphiles.
Soutenu par des partenaires historiques – La ville d’Angoulême, le GrandAngoulême, le Département de la Charente, la Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, la Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Charente, le CGR d’Angoulême et le CNC - et des partenaires privés qui l’ont fait grandir ; le festival met à l’honneur les films d’aujourd’hui, ceux du passé mais aussi les talents de demain.
Et combien de grands films sont venus faire leurs premiers pas à Angoulême : Intouchables, La guerre est déclarée, Les garçons et Guillaume, à table !, Hippocrate ou encore Petit paysan. D’année en année cela se confirme : le goût du public angoumoisin agit en véritable baromètre des succès à venir !
