Illumina for Startups Network aims to inspire the creation, funding, and growth of genomics and multi-omics startups across the globe. It is designed for the entrepreneurial ecosystem and focused on building connections, strengthening community, and advancing breakthrough genomics applications.

Current Illumina for Startups initiatives include
• Startups Grants for founders to work with Illumina sites globally to run proof-of-concept sequencing experiments and
• Sequoia Capital China Intelligent Healthcare Genomics Incubator, Powered by Illumina, founded in 2021.

Past initiatives include Illumina Accelerator, company creation engine co-located with Illumina research and development sites in San Francisco Bay Area and Cambridge, UK. Illumina Accelerator invested in 74 genomics startups from across the globe that collectively raised over US$1B between 2014 and 2023. In 2023 Illumina Accelerator re-launched as Illumina Ventures Labs, now operated by Illumina’s strategic partner and independent VC firm, Illumina Ventures.
