L’agence de l’eau est un établissement public de l’Etat sous tutelle du ministère de l’environnement, qui a pour mission la reconquête du bon état de l'eau et des milieux aquatiques. L’agence de l’eau agit dans le cadre d’un programme d’intervention 2019-2024 qui fixe les grandes priorités d’action pour 6 ans. L’agence dispose d’une capacité d’aide annuelle d’environ 440 M€ et emploie 330 personnes.
