- Chercher
1er financeur en France de la recherche sur les maladies génétiques de l’intelligence, la Fondation Jérôme Lejeune développe et coordonne les travaux de chercheurs et finance des programmes en France comme à l’étranger.
Une banque de données biologiques – le laboratoire BioJeL– a été mise en place : il permet à des chercheurs du monde entier de se procurer les matériaux génétiques nécessaires à l’avancée de leurs recherches.
- Soigner
L’Institut Jérôme Lejeune est l’organisme de la Fondation dédié au soin des malades. Ce centre de consultations médicales spécialisées prévient et traite en particulier les sur-handicaps affectant fréquemment les trisomiques 21. Au-delà du suivi médical proprement dit, d’autres spécialistes accompagnent les malades pour faciliter leur insertion, notamment en milieu scolaire.

La Fondation Jérôme Lejeune défend la vie des personnes handicapées dès la conception. Elle est donc vigilante aux questions de bioéthique : dans un contexte où l’accélération des progrès scientifiques pose à la société des interrogations fondamentales.
