ECS is an international, nonprofit organization working to advance theory and practice at the forefront of electrochemistry, solid state science, and allied subjects. ECS encourages research, discussion, critical assessment, and dissemination of knowledge in these fields.

The Society holds meetings, publishes scientific papers, fosters training and education of scientists and engineers, and cooperates with other organizations to promote science and technology in the public interest.

ECS bridges the gaps among academia, research, and engineering—bringing together scientists from around the world for the exchange of technical information. This unique blend provides an unparalleled forum for the integration of these areas of science and technology.

ECS continues to disseminate information through technical meetings, peer-reviewed journals, student services, a quarterly news magazine, books, and awards; and provides networking contacts through ECS’s Divisions and Sections.
