[Automatic translation follows] The Technological Research Institute (IRT) of the railway sector

A real tool at the service of the railway sector, the Railenium Technological Research Institute (IRT) carries out partnership research and innovation projects bringing together academics and industrialists, in conjunction with public authorities.

Together, they collaboratively develop, validate and test disruptive technologies and innovative solutions responding to the major societal and technological challenges of the rail industry, in France and internationally.

Founded in 2012 as part of the Future Investment Plan, Railenium is a Technological Research Institute (IRT) with expertise in the rail system.

Thanks to the expertise of its teams, Railenium offers skills to overcome technological and scientific obstacles, in the fields of artificial intelligence, BIM/RTM, digital modeling, IoT, operational safety and organizational and human factors (OHF).

Based in Hauts-de-France and present in the Paris region, Railenium has led, thanks to its expertise in financing engineering and coordination of collaborative projects, more than 70 projects in 10 years involving around 140 partners and 80 employees.

Since 2017, i-Trans and Railenium have pooled all the tools of their systems around the same ambition: to jointly support a strong innovation strategy, responding to the challenges of companies in the rail sector in order to cover the entire innovation process from the emergence of the project to its valorization.‍

Railenium is above all a human adventure to invent and design safer, more efficient and more sustainable transport: the rail system of tomorrow.
