5 years agoDelivering healthier lives through innovation in gut health, microbiology and food. Partnership = QIB, NNUH, UEA, BBSRC
The Quadram Institute: connected science - better health.
Our vision is to understand how food and microbes interact to promote health and prevent disease.
Our mission is to deliver healthier lives through innovation in gut health, microbiology and food.
At the forefront of research into food, the gut microbiome, and human health, the Quadram is a unique partnership between Quadram Institute Bioscience, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of East Anglia (UEA).
We are developing solutions to worldwide challenges in food-related disease and human health, bringing together interdisciplinary teams and working with international organisations to address these major issues.
Clinicians working alongside scientists conducting fundamental and applied research in a new single purpose-built, state-of-the-art building. Genome scientists, microbiologists, immunologists, gut biologists, mathematicians, clinicians, food scientists and nutritionists linked together with each other across the fundamental and translational research pipeline: from lab to bedside, food to plate, and diet to health to deliver scientifically-validated and clinically-tested strategies to improve human health and wellbeing throughout life.
The Institute builds on recent understanding of how food and the gut microbes interact, which is creating a fundamental shift in the way we understand and address the impact of food on health.
