L’Aract-Itt Martinique, Agence Régionale pour l’Amélioration des Conditions de Travail, a été créée sous forme associative en 2001, et a intégré l’Établissement Public Administratif Anact au 1er janvier 2023, au même titre que les 15 autres associations régionales.
L’Aract-Itt Martinique co-construit son programme d’activité avec le Comité Paritaire Régional composé des partenaires sociaux (8 Organisations Syndicales de salariés et 4 Organisations Patronales), qui le vote.
La création de l’Aract Martinique en 2001 marque une rupture dans la pratique du dialogue social à la Martinique, après les violents conflits sociaux de la fin des années 90. Outil des partenaires sociaux pour l’amélioration concertée des conditions de travail par une approche globale de la performance, l’Aract Martinique travaille dès ses premières années sur des thématiques taboues, inconnues, ou embryonnaires dans le réseau Anact – Aract telles que la responsabilité sociétale, les risques psychosociaux, l’égalité professionnelle... Elle en conçoit des outils et méthodes, tels Elvie, l’OACT...
Début 2016, sa dénomination évolue pour devenir « Aract - Institut Territorial du Travail Martinique ». Ce changement concrétise la volonté des organisations patronales et syndicales de la Martinique de créer un espace unique sur le travail et le dialogue social avec l’intégration notable des missions de l’IFRTM - Institut Formation et de Recherche sur le Travail de la Martinique, notamment les formations communes, innovation aujourd'hui reconnue par l'article L2212-1 du Code du Travail.
