Constituïda com a xarxa catalana de business angels, s’adreça, per una banda, a inversors privats interessats a participar en nous projectes empresarials i que poden aportar valor afegit a les seves inversions, és a dir, capital, experiència, know-how, contactes empresarials i per sobre de tot, confiança. Per altre banda, BANC dona servei a tots els emprenedors mitjançant l’assessorament i presentació dels seus projectes empresarials a un públic inversor.
BANC va ser creada per iniciativa de la patronal CECOT, la Fundació CP’AC i l’institut Català de Finances. Comte amb la col·laboració de Garrigues i caixa Unnim. Forma part del Programa XIP d'Acció i es membre de la Fundación Esban (Red Española de Business Angels), de la EBAN (European Business Angels Network) i de la WBAA (World Business Angels Association).
