Le 06 octobre 2005 le Zénith de Dijon était inauguré par François Rebsamen en présence de tous les partenaires du Grand Dijon : l’Etat, le Conseil Régional et le Conseil Général.
Le Zénith est la plus grande structure à 250 km à la ronde. Tout en jouant le jeu de la complémentarité avec les autres structures de la ville et de la Région, il assume pleinement sa mission d’accueil des plus grandes manifestations. Il est le seul à pouvoir recevoir les grands spectacles et concert en tournée, répondant ainsi aux besoins et aux envies des habitants de la Métropole Dijonnaise et de bien au-delà. Le public est nombreux, varié, et vient non seulement de Côte d’Or mais aussi de tous les départements de Bourgogne, de Franche Comté mais aussi de Haute Marne...
La qualité de la salle, son dispositif scénique et acoustique et ses dimensions sont parfaitement adaptés aux attentes des artistes.
La salle est équipée d’une scène modulable et de rideaux d’occultation permettant de recevoir dans d’excellentes conditions, aussi bien des grands spectacles à la scénographie imposante (grandes tournées nationales et internationales, comédies musicales, opéras,...) que des manifestations plus intimistes (spectacles d’humour, théâtre,...) en adaptant les dimensions de la salle aux jauges retenues par les organisateurs.
Le Zénith possède également des loges, deux caterings, des bureaux de production et autres aménagements pour accueillir au mieux les productions et les promoteurs locaux.
Le Zénith de Dijon accueille également des évènements économiques, il dispose d’une salle de réception de 450m2, d’espaces VIP Tapis Rouge, d’un Bar Bleu pour tous les évènements privés.
