In order to involve economic stakeholders in the challenges of preserving biodiversity, particularly as reflected in the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), adopted in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro by the United Nations, the CBD Secretariat has created a specific exchange structure called the Global Partnership for Business and Biodiversity (GPBB).
The Business & Biodiversity Platform was born from the action of the GPBB. It is managed by the ORÉE association, with the financial support of the OFB and the contribution of a Technical Committee.
Its purpose is to:
● relay to the Convention on Biological Diversity the practices
and initiatives for biodiversity management developed by French economic
stakeholders and institutions;
● present the different stakeholders;
● enable the sharing of practices and knowledge;

Engagements et bonnes pratiques des entreprises vis-à-vis de la Convention sur la Diversité Biologique (CDB).
Afin d’impliquer les acteurs économiques aux enjeux de la préservation de la biodiversité, notamment traduits dans la Convention sur la Diversité Biologique (CDB), adoptée en 1992 à Rio de Janeiro par les Nations unies, le Secrétariat de la CDB a créé une structure spécifique d’échange dénommée le Global Partnership for Business and Biodiversity (GPBB).
La Plateforme Entreprises & la Biodiversité est née de l'action du GPBB. Elle est gérée par l'association ORÉE, avec le soutien financier de l'OFB et l'apport d'un Comité technique.
Elle a pour objet de :
● relayer auprès la Convention sur la Diversité Biologique les pratiques
et initiatives de gestion de la biodiversité développées par les acteurs
économiques et institutions français ;
● présenter les différents acteurs ;
● permettre un partage de pratiques et de connaissances ;
● fournir des ressources (outils, travaux, etc.).

La nouvelle version de la Plateforme française Entreprises & Biodiversité permettra aux entreprises de s'engager dans des démarches concrètes en faveur de la biodiversité grâce à un recensement des initiatives probantes et un espace de partage pour les acteurs économiques.
