Mountbatten Hampshire (formerly Countess Mountbatten Hospice) provides practical, medical and emotional support to over 3,000 people every year with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in Southampton and across west Hampshire. This support is not only given to the patients but also their carers and families throughout illness and bereavement. In April 2019 a collaboration between Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, known as the Mountbatten Group, created one of the largest providers of hospice and end of life care in England.
Mountbatten Hampshire is a registered charity (number 1123304). It costs £8m per year to run our services in Hampshire (£8m). The NHS commissions and pays for some of our services however the majority of our income comes from fundraising, grants, legacies and retail activities.

Mountbatten Hampshire was formerly known as Countess Mountbatten Hospice. Most of our work takes place in people's homes across Southampton and large parts of Hampshire. Our expert teams provide 24/7 support to patients living in their own homes and on our inpatient unit at our hospice in West End, Southampton. We also provide self-help and bereavement support. We have six shops - located in Weeke (near Winchester), Romsey, West End, Hedge End, Above Bar Street (Southampton) and Shirley. Each year, we must raise around £10 million to continue providing our services; we hold fundraising events throughout the year and we are grateful to our amazing local communities who give donations and support through volunteering.
