    The Austrian Court of Audit is the highest control body in the Republic.

    Around 250 auditors check whether public institutions use tax money lawfully, economically, economically and appropriately. To ensure that government spending is used sensibly, a total of 310 employees work for you.

    Rund 250 Prüferinnen und Prüfer kontrollieren, ob öffentliche Einrichtungen rechtmäßig, sparsam, wirtschaftlich und zweckmäßig mit Steuergeldern umgehen. Damit die Ausgaben des Staates sinnvoll eingesetzt werden, arbeiten insgesamt 310 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter für Sie.

    Wir prüfen daher unabhängig:
    im Bund, in den Ländern und in den Gemeinden
    alle Bereiche, in denen öffentliche Gelder eingesetzt werden
    Sozialversicherungsträger sowie
    die gesetzlichen beruflichen Vertretungen (Kammern)

    Wir prüfen öffentliche Finanzen, Förderungen und die Verwaltung des Staates, beispielsweise in den Bereichen Bildung, Kultur, Gesundheit, Sicherheit, Umwelt- und Energie, Verkehr, die Abwicklung von Bauprojekten und vieles mehr. Wir prüfen auch öffentliche Unternehmen sowie Maßnahmen zur Korruptionsprävention. Insgesamt sind wir für rund 6.000 öffentliche Einrichtungen zuständig.
