The French Office for Biodiversity (OFB), created in 2020, is a public institution under the dual supervision of the ministries responsible for the environment and agriculture.

Au cœur de l’action pour la préservation du vivant dans les milieux aquatiques, terrestres et marins, l’OFB joue un rôle essentiel pour lutter contre l’érosion de la biodiversité. Parmi ses principales causes : la destruction et la fragmentation des milieux naturels, la surexploitation des ressources naturelles, le changement climatique, les pollutions ou les espèces exotiques envahissantes.
