    Research & innovation for port, city, and education (climate adaptation, energy transition, circularity, digitalization)

    At Centre of Expertise (CoE) HRTech, students, lecturers, and researchers – from different disciplines at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences – work together with companies and governments on tackling major social issues, such as climate adaptation, energy transition, circularity, and digitalization, from a technical perspective. We do this with practice-oriented research and innovation projects in sectors such as construction, maritime, logistics, water, and the process and manufacturing industry. The knowledge developed is widely shared, applied in the city and port of Rotterdam and used to innovate our technology education. We have also set up a learning environment on the RDM Rotterdam campus – with all kinds of labs and workshops – that resembles practice, and we are making young people enthusiastic about studying technology.
