La franchigia italiana professionistica di rugby che prende parte al campionato internazionale United Rugby Championship e alle coppe europee organizzate da EPCR. La sede del club è alla Cittadella del Rugby di Parma.
Fondate originariamente nel 1973 come club ad inviti riservato ai migliori giocatori del campionato italiano ed ai migliori giocatori stranieri dei campionati europei da Renato Tullio Ferrari -primo presidente- coadiuvato dall’allora capitano della Nazionale Marco Bollesan, le Zebre hanno svolto la propria attività agonistica in particolar modo nel Nord-Ovest italiano. In 23 anni furono organizzati 25 incontri contro club internazionali di prestigio con un alto numero di vittorie. Memorabile la vittoria contro i Barbarians a Brescia mentre l’ultimo incontro disputato dalle Zebre in forma di invitational club risale al 1996.
Il 7 giugno 2012 la Federazione Italiana Rugby ha assunto la titolarità del nome “Zebre” per la nuova franchigia a gestione federale con sede a Parma con l'obiettivo di competere con le più prestigiose squadre del vecchio continente nel campionato celtico e nelle coppe europee.
Nell’estate del 2014, alla vigilia della terza stagione di Guinness PRO12, di fianco al nome Zebre è stato aggiunto il suffisso “Rugby”. Dal 2015 al 2017 le Zebre Rugby hanno vissuto due stagioni di attività agonistica e societaria sotto la direzione di un pool di privati col sostegno della Federazione Italiana Rugby. Nella stagione 2015/16 i bianconeri hanno ottenuto 8 vittorie qualificandosi alla EPCR Champions Cup 2016/17, la più prestigiosa coppa europea per club.
Nell’estate 2017 la direzione della franchigia è tornata totalmente sotto la Federazione Italiana Rugby che ha costituito la nuova società Zebre Rugby Club. Il club ha assunto il nuovo schema di colori multicolor e partire dalla stagione 2021/22 partecipa al prestigioso torneo internazionale United Rugby Championship contro le migliori formazioni d'Europa e Sudafrica.
