Located on the Subsistances site since 2007, the Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon (ENSBA) is a higher education institution for the arts approved by the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
The School offers the major options that structure the field of artistic education in France with several courses of study in art and design. In 2011, the Ecole nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon saw its statutes officially changed to EPCC, a public establishment for cultural cooperation, and became the Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon. The School is now equipped with all the tools necessary to award diplomas at the master's level; this development is fully in line with the European harmonization of higher education.

Installée sur le site des Subsistances depuis 2007, l’Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon (ENSBA) est un établissement supérieur d’enseignement artistique agréé par le Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication.
L’École propose les options majeures qui structurent le champ des enseignements artistiques en France avec plusieurs cursus d’études en art et design. Les formations dispensées conduisent aux DNAT (Diplôme National d’Arts et Techniques) en design graphique et textile, aux DNAP (diplôme national dArts Plastiques) en art et en design d’espace à l’issue de la troisième année ainsi qu’aux DNSEP (Diplôme National Supérieur d’Expression Plastique) en art et en design à l’issue de la cinquième année d’études.
Engagée depuis plusieurs années dans le programme de recherche que constitue son Post-diplôme art, l’Ecole voit se développer fortement ses activités de recherches, désormais structurées autour d’« Unités de Recherches » en collaboration avec de grandes écoles françaises et étrangères et laboratoires CNRS.
En 2011, l’Ecole nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon voit ses statuts officiellement modifiés en EPCC, établissement public de coopération culturelle, et devient l’Ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon. L’Ecole est désormais dotée de tous les outils nécessaires à la délivrance des diplômes au grade de master; cette évolution s’inscrit pleinement dans le cadre de l’harmonisation européenne des enseignements supérieurs.
