The Foundation for Research on Biodiversity is a platform for the different scientific players and stakeholders in society concerned with biodiversity. It was created in 2008, following the Grenelle Environment Forum, with the support of the ministries for research and ecology and eight public research establishments, joined by LVMH in 2014.
Generating innovation, promoting scientific projects in association with society and developing studies, overviews and valuations are at the core of the foundation’s missions. Up until now, more than 170 structures, associations, businesses, managers or authorities have joined the FRB with the aim of facing scientific biodiversity challenges together.

La Fondation pour la recherche sur la biodiversité (FRB) est une plateforme entre les différents acteurs scientifiques et les acteurs de la société sur la biodiversité. Elle a été créée en 2008, à la suite du Grenelle de l’environnement, avec le soutien des Ministères de la recherche et de l’écologie et de huit établissements publics de recherche, rejoints depuis par LVMH, l'Université de Montpellier et l'OFB.
Susciter l’innovation, promouvoir des projets scientifiques en lien avec la société et développer études, synthèses et expertises sont autant d’actions au coeur de son dispositif. À ce jour, plus de 245 structures, associations, entreprises, gestionnaires ou collectivités, ont rejoint la FRB autour d’un but : relever ensemble les défis scientifiques de la biodiversité.
