The CITC-EuraRFID brings together the contactless technology skills and the existing experimentation platforms in the north of France and the Euro regions (Belgium, UK, Netherlands, Germany...) and is backed by over 250 members and partners. It is a centre for resources, experimentations and technical expertise in terms of identification, traceability, mobility and geolocation...
It supports the appropriation of contactless technologies (RFID, NFC, Zigbee and wireless sensor networks), the standardized and innovative solutions and the development of new activities with high potential.
Indeed, contactless technologies and wireless microsensor networks have been identified among the most important technologies for the 21st century and for the development of the Internet of Things, part of the Future Internet.
In order to successfully leverage these innovation technologies and support the innovation within local economy, the CITC works on social acceptance (accessibility, consumer convenience, privacy...), networked RFID and future Internet of Things, health and environmental impact, and harmonization issues (interoperability between different systems harmonization of regional standards...).

Le CITC est un cluster dédié à l’Internet des Objets, composé de plus de 100 membres (entreprises, start-up, porteurs de projets, acteurs académiques, ...) et un Centre de Ressources Technologiques et d’Expertises des technologies sans contact. Le CITC répond aux nouveaux challenges technologiques autour des Objets Communicants, du Machine-to-Machine et de l’Intelligence Ambiante. Il fédère un écosystème riche et varié autour de projets techniques, R&D et collaboratifs s’adressant à des marchés en forte croissance : TIC, logistique, santé, habitat, transport, gaming, etc.
Le centre d’Innovation a une véritable expertise technique et dispose d’un laboratoire Recherche & Innovation. Il offre à ses adhérents l’accès à différentes plateformes permettant par exemple de réaliser des prototypes d’objets (FabLab), d’effectuer des mesures d’ondes électromagnétiques, de réaliser des tests et pré-certifications (etc.), tout en bénéficiant des conseils et de l’expérience du centre d’innovation.
Il initie et pilote des projets de recherche intégrative et collaborative et développe des plates-formes de tests grandeur nature et propose un cycle de formations pour se former aux technologies de demain (tout niveau). Il est également à l’initiative de nombreux projets innovants tels que le projet SmartHome by CITC, Connected Innovation Store, l’expérimentation Bibliomobi (SmartCulture) ou encore la plateforme SmartIndustries.
