4 years, 2 months agoThe Foundation for Responsible Robotics is a not-for-profit organization founded in Enschede, the Netherlands whose mission is to shape a future of ethical robotics design, development, use, regulation, and implementation. We see both the definition of "responsible robotics" and the means of achieving it as ongoing tasks that will evolve alongside the technology. In 2017 the FRR relocated to The Hague, the Netherlands.
To achieve its mission, the FRR engages with policymakers at local, national, and international levels to advocate for the creation ethical regulations on robotics and AI technologies; organizes and hosts workshops that bring together stakeholders from various disciplines to discuss and develop best practices for addressing ethical, legal, and societal issues of technology; publishes consultation documents to educate and inform both policymakers and the public in a clear, unbiased manner; and creates public-private collaborations to bridge the gap between industry and consumers to allow for greater transparency.
The FRR is comprised of experts, students, and thinkers in philosophy and ethics, technology, law, policy, and industry.
