4 years, 9 months agoAn EU funded project which will reduce the data gap of the bioeconomy in Europe
Funded under EU Horizon 2020, the BioMonitor project aims to reduce the existing information gap on the bioeconomy within Europe. It will do so by developing a sustainable and robust data and modelling framework which will enable professional stakeholders from different sectors to monitor and measure the bioeconomy and its economic, environmental and social impacts in the EU and Member States.
It will be done using a three-fold approach:
1. Closing the data gaps observed when measuring the bioeconomy by using new and improved datasets
2. Enhancing existing modelling tools that guide industries and policymakers in defining long-term strategies
3. Creating a stakeholder engagement platform and training modules to validate and disseminate the data and modelling framework developed by the project.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and Innovation programme under grant agreement N°773297
