The Open Diplomacy Institute is a Paris-based think-tank working on global governance of sustainability.
L'Institut Open Diplomacy is a French non-profit organization aiming at promoting an understanding of international relations for graduate students.
As a member of the international associative G8 & G20 Youth Networks acting in favor of international youth dialogue, Youth Diplomacy was chosen as organizing committee of the G8 & G20 Youth Summits - Paris 2011.
Each year international youths would gather for a week of negotiation to discuss about the major issues at stakes in international affairs. These young diplomats would then compose a Communiqué Final to sum up the principal agreements resulting from this international youth negotiation and submit it to their official political authorities in order to promote international youth consensus.
Youth Diplomacy's main missions are to :
- Organize the G8 & G20 Youth Summits
- Recruit and train the French delegation
- Develop the G8 & G20 Youth Networks
The G8 & G20 Youth Summits will take place in Paris, at ESCP Europe, from May 29th to June 3rd. The chosen theme for the 2011 edition is "Global Transition to a Multilateral and Sustainable World". Not only will it be an event of great interest for international debate for the 140 youths that are expected, but it is also a networking event thanks to the partners and sponsors that support Youth Diplomacy's work.Original language

L’Institut Open Diplomacy pense et promeut les conditions d’une paix durable et d'un futur désirable pour les générations à venir. Face à une polycrise dont les ruptures géopolitiques et écologiques mettent en danger la stabilité du monde et l'état de la planète, notre think tank croise l’analyse des enjeux stratégiques et l’étude des enjeux globaux. Notre objectif est d’étudier ces doubles mutations dans la rigueur scientifique, pour imaginer les débouchés possibles et souhaitables. Le défi est alors de co-construire ce « monde d’après » et de le faire advenir avec des leaders à la hauteur du double-défi des limites planétaires et des tensions internationales. Pour y parvenir, nous faisons dialoguer les différentes générations et les divers acteurs des relations internationales contemporaines.
