Altaeros spun out of MIT in 2010 on a mission to make the world’s first autonomous aerostat. We released our first autonomous aerostat in 2019 and have now deployed aerostats in the US and around the world with various partners. Our Autonomous Aerostats are powered by Aerostat AutopilotTM, the first autonomous control system for tethered aerostats.
