L’Association du Jeune Barreau de Montréal (AJBM), est un organisme à but non lucratif fondé en 1898 et regroupant les avocat(e)s de 10 ans et moins de pratique inscrits à la section de Montréal du Barreau du Québec. L’AJBM est dirigée par un conseil d’administration formé de 15 avocat(e)s qui offrent bénévolement leur temps afin d’assurer la poursuite des objectifs de l’AJBM, et ce, en collaboration avec ses comités, un secrétariat permanent et plus d’une centaine de bénévoles.
L’AJBM, qui rassemble aujourd’hui plus de 4200 membres, est de ce fait une des plus grandes associations de jeunes avocats au monde, en termes de nombre pour une seule ville. L’AJBM représente des jeunes avocats oeuvrant dans tous les domaines du droit, où ils font leur marque sur le plan professionnel. Ses membres sont la relève de la profession à l’échelle locale, nationale et internationale. Ils forment un groupe influent, engagé dans la communauté et sont appelés à devenir des chefs de file dans toutes les sphères de la société.
Sa mission est double. D’une part, elle veille à défendre et à promouvoir les intérêts de ses membres. D’autre part, elle fournit de façon bénévole des services de consultation et d’information juridique auprès de différents segments de la population et organise des activités de bienfaisance.
