In average there are over 150 Hackathons listed, taking place in more than 120 cities.

Hackevents was founded with the goal of bringing more transparency in the field of Hackathons as well as strengthen the general ecosystem.

Besides running the platform, the founders of Hackevents did host own Hackathons from time to time in order to benchmark the current state of the art in Hackathons. The biggest success here was the Oktoberhackfes (OHF) in 2015, Germany's biggest Hackathon with more than 250 participants and partners/sponsors from all over the world.
