Celebrating 60-plus years of making connections and professional development for PR pros in the Greater Kansas City area
The Greater Kansas City Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is a thriving organization that strives to advance the profession of Public Relations throughout the greater Kansas City region.
We currently have more than 200 members and hold professional development events to enhance our professional growth. Kansas City also boasts a great awards program, the PRISM Awards, held in the fall every year.
The Chapter is also active with local PRSSA groups and hosts PRSSA Day every fall.
In 2021, the chapter launched the Inez Y. GKC-PRSA Memorial Scholarship Fund, administered by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation to honor Inez Kaiser. Inez Kaiser was a national public relations pioneer from Kansas City. She was the first Black woman to join PRSA in 1966. Her cookbook, "Soul Food Cookery" is now on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture. Scholarships are awarded to college students exemplifying her values of public relations excellence, leadership and volunteerism.
