Our history
The founders of Trascender were young professionals who perceived that the country was experiencing contexts of economic inequality, social capital and strong segregation.
While pursuing postgraduate studies in the United States, Cristián del Campo S.J., commercial engineer and current Provincial of the Company of Jesus in Chile; Luis Felipe Merino, lawyer; and Jaime Ruiz-Tagle, a commercial engineer, began to look for alternatives for social services where professionals like them would be able to contribute to overcoming poverty in the country, putting their human capital at the service of the rest of society.
Not finding spaces, they decided to create Fundación Trascender to give a space to those professionals with enthusiasm to help and link them with social organizations that need their experience and knowledge.
To date, we have carried out more than 4,000 projects, coordinating more than 6,000 volunteer professionals, which has allowed us to train more than 6,600 social organizations.
