Founded in 2016, the foundation has Al Madinah, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Atos, Engineering, Red Hat, NEC, Telefónica, and Orange among its members.
The FIWARE platform provides a rather simple yet powerful set of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and combines components enabling the connection to the Internet of Things with Context Information Management and Big Data services in the Cloud. Key areas of FIWARE innovations include Digital Twin, Artificial Intelligence, Data Spaces, and Blockchain. FIWARE is Day-1 member of GAIA-X and co-founder of the Data Spaces Business Alliance (DSBA).
