The Internet of Things (IOT) is an emerging sector with a great potential for economic growth and employment generation. Currently, only 1% of things are connected, but it is expected that in 2020 in the world there will be about 50,000 million devices connected to the Internet, which represents about 7 devices per inhabitant.
The Catalan Alliance yacht is promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya, within the framework of the SmartCAT strategy, to promote this new sector in our country. The Alliance is formed by a group of companies and entities that develop and implement technological solutions in yacht. The constitution of this group allows to establish the ideal environment for the key agents of this dialogue industry among them in order to jointly define an action plan to promote yacht in Catalonia.
The objectives of the Alliance are:

La Internet de les Coses (IoT) és un sector emergent amb un gran potencial de creixement econòmic i de generació d’ocupació. Actualment, només un 1% de les coses estan connectades, però es preveu que el 2020 al món hi haurà uns 50.000 milions de dispositius connectats a Internet, el que representa uns 7 aparells per habitant.
La IoT Catalan Alliance està promoguda per la Generalitat de Catalunya, dins del marc de l’estratègia SmartCAT, per impulsar aquest nou sector al nostre país. L’aliança està formada per un grup d’empreses i entitats que desenvolupen i implementen solucions tecnològiques en IoT. La constitució d’aquest grup permet establir l’entorn idoni perquè els agents clau d’aquesta indústria dialoguin entre ells amb l’objectiu de definir conjuntament un pla d’acció per impulsar la IoT a Catalunya.
Els objectius de l’aliança són:
- Identificar les empreses i entitats que desenvolupen activitat en aquest àmbit
- Explorar el coneixement de les seves capacitats i necessitats
- Fomentar l’intercanvi d’informació i la generació de sinèrgies entre els membres
- Donar visibilitat i oportunitats de negoci a tots els agents de la cadena de valor
- Treballar la representació del sector davant de l’Administració o organismes d’estandardització
