Créée début 2013, l’association Villes et Territoires Occitanie, est l’un des vingt centres de ressources dédié à la politique de la ville et la cohésion territoriale en France.
C’est un outil d’informations, d’échanges et de qualification pour les acteurs de la politique de la ville et, plus largement les acteurs mobilisés autour des enjeux de cohésion sociale et territoriale en Occitanie : élus et professionnels des villes et des EPCI, agents de l’Etat, partenaires locaux, réseaux associatifs...
L’expertise de Villes et Territoires Occitanie repose en particulier sur un positionnement singulier de « tiers facilitateur » entre les services de l’Etat et les collectivités territoriales. Villes et Territoires n’est pas l’outil d’une seule institution, ni le relais exclusif et unique d’une politique. Il constitue une passerelle entre les acteurs et entre les politiques publiques thématiques qui concourent à la cohésion des territoires, avec une attention particulière aux quartiers en politique de la ville.
