Campania Bioscience is a regional cluster gathering together competences and facilities in the fields of Health, Biotech and Agro-food with the aim of valorizing the partners expertise in terms of value chain.
The cluster is composed of 7 research entities, 51 companies and 2 Technology Transfer agencies. Networking and knowledge transfer are considered key assets to leverage competitiveness, entrepreneurship and innovativeness. The Cluster operates within: CEBR, European Biotechnology Network; ALISEI - Italian cluster on life sciences. Beneficiary of INNOSUP 2015-1, for the provision of advanced support to startups and SMEs in healthcare (innolabs.io).
Campania Bioscience has a relevant track record experience in the design, management and implementation of complex research/industrial development/innovation projects at regional and national (managing projects for a value of € 44 MIL) and EU level.
The cluster is now focused on the dual challenge of developing a vaccine against oncological diseases and a device for the early diagnosis of diabetes.
The first Project "Developing Innovative Therapeutic Approaches to Treatment of Neoplasms Drug-Resistant" (SATIN) mainly focuses on the development of novel specific therapeutic approaches (recombinant vaccines, fragments of monoclonal antibodies, peptides and aptamers, small molecules) and, in parallel, the implementation of working platforms (cellular model systems and animals, authorization procedures, bio-bank of liquid biopsy Phase I clinical trials) needed to optimize all the activities.
Campania Bioscience has put together all the regional competences with the innovative contributions of industrial groups of national and international relevance. The second project “Innovative Devices For SHAping the RIsk of Diabetes” (IDF SHARID) aims to design, implement and test a prototype genomic Lab-On-Chip capable to identify specific epigenetic and genetic variability associated to individual risk of diabetes.
