    Since its foundation in 1991, the mission of İKMİB has been to sustain the professional ethics and cohesion of Turkish export companies in the chemicals industry, help increase export levels, diversify export products, help increase products'​ competitiveness, defend its members'​ rights and interests, and help them form strong relationships in the international arena and support them to get into new markets. To that end, our Association takes active part in international organizations and continues the organizational work in Turkey. The goals are to be in close relationships with all the sub-sectors of the chemicals industry, follow new developments and innovations in the sector closely, and engage new customers from overseas.

    İKMİB, kurulduğu 1991 yılından bu yana kimya sektöründe ihracat yapan Türk firmalarının mesleki ahlak ve dayanışmasını korumayı; ihracatın artması, ihraç ürünlerinin çeşitlendirilmesi ve ürünlere rekabet gücü kazandırılması için çalışmalarda bulunmayı, üyelerinin menfaatlerini korumayı, uluslararası arenada güçlü bağlantılar kurmasını ve yeni pazarlara açılmasını amaç edinmiştir. Bu amaçla, kimya sektörünün tüm alt sektörleri ile yakın ilişkiler içerisinde bulunarak sektördeki gelişmelerin, yeniliklerin yakından takip edilmesi ve yurt dışından yeni müşteriler kazanılması için dünya çapında organizasyonlara katılmakta ve bu organizasyonları Türkiye’de de devam ettirmektedir.
