CRCI2NA Nantes - Angers Cancer and Immunology Research Center
The CRCI2NA (Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie et Immunologie Intégrée Nantes Angers in french) was created in January 2022 by the INSERM, the CNRS, the University of Nantes, and the University of Angers as a result of a structuration of oncology and immuno-cancerology research that was initiated in 1979.
This Center is composed of 12 research teams dedicated to the analysis of tumors as ecosystems composed of distinct cell types, linked by cooperative or competitive relationships. The overall project of the CRCI2NA is to explore the interactions and dynamic changes of tumor ecosystems during tumor progression as well as the mechanisms of dissemination in response to treatments.
More specifically, the CRCI2NA teams focus on the death/survival decisions of malignant cells as well as their molecular evolution, the reactivity of immune cells and the cooperativity of stromal cells. They combine a broad spectrum of expertise, including cancer genomics and computational biology, cell and molecular biology, cell models (3D and murine), immuno-oncology and imaging.
This multi-scale approach allows the identification of diagnostic and predictive tools, the deciphering of treatment resistance mechanisms and the design of innovative therapies and theranostic approaches, based on the molecular, phenotypic and radiomic specificities of each cancer. Le CRCI2NA (Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie et Immunologie Intégrée Nantes Angers) a été créé en janvier 2022 par l'INSERM, le CNRS, l'Université de Nantes et l'Université d'Angers, suite à une structuration de la recherche en oncologie et immuno-cancérologie initiée en 1979.
Ce Centre est composé de 12 équipes de recherche dédiées à l'analyse des tumeurs en tant qu'écosystèmes composés de types cellulaires distincts, liés par des relations de coopération ou de compétition. Le projet global du CRCI2NA est d'explorer les interactions et les changements dynamiques des écosystèmes tumoraux au cours de la progression tumorale ainsi que les mécanismes de dissémination en réponse aux traitements.
Plus précisément, les équipes de la CRCI2NA se concentrent sur les décisions de mort/survie des cellules malignes ainsi que sur leur évolution moléculaire, la réactivité des cellules immunitaires et la coopérativité des cellules stromales. Elles combinent un large éventail de compétences, notamment la génomique du cancer et la bio-informatique, la biologie cellulaire et moléculaire, les modèles cellulaires (3D et murins), l'immuno-oncologie et l'imagerie.
Cette approche multi-échelle permet d'identifier des outils de diagnostic et de prédiction, de décrypter les mécanismes de résistance aux traitements et de concevoir des thérapies innovantes et des approches théranostiques, en fonction des spécificités moléculaires, phénotypiques et radiomiques de chaque cancer.
Réparti sur cinq sites, le CRCI2NA est le plus grand centre de recherche sur le cancer de la région Grand Ouest.
