Cluj Cluster of Education is founded by formal actors that value learning and support the knowledge based economy in Cluj. C-EDUi s the ecosystem effort, a collaborative working tool to answer the big questions and challenges in the field of education of the 2the future, from the community approach perspective. C-EDU aims to contribute improving the environment in which the education happens, promoting the value of lifelong learning and creating a relationship of dialogue and collaboration between actors in education, the economic environment and the community. The Cluj Cluster of Education was founded by the six public Universities of Cluj-Napoca, the Cluj County School Inspectorate, the Transylvania College Foundation, Cluj County Council and Cluj-Napoca Municipality, which were later joined by more than 30 other members over the past years. C-EDU will achieve its goal by initiating new projects, improving existing initiatives in the city and the metropolitan area, and promoting the educational actions of its members. C-EDU openly took the challenge of joining European initiatives on innovation, social innovation and is proud to contribute from the bottom-up to numerous projects and processes, such as New European Innovation Agenda (#NEIA), Regional Partnership for Innovation (PRIs), Global StartupCities initiative (#EiA), or the European consultations on better connecting the actors to implement the European Education Agenda and #NEIA.
It also curates and manages the first local Innovation and Experiment Fund (CIEF) with a tailor made local co-designed incubation program for the 16 - 26 young startups on innovation and social innovation (@FIXCluj).
In the last years C-Edu has opened a process to define and experiment the first Rural Urban Hub in Romania (#RUHubCluj), as an attempt to tackle divide, needs of inclusion and transfer of knowledge and resources from urban to rural communities and the other way around.
