"CAR - Center Automotive Research, Duisburg" is a private-sector research institute focussing on questions relating to mobility. Jan Wortberg, Prof Dr Helena Wisbert and D+S Automotive GmbH are behind the events and the network of experts. The focal points include mobility studies and international events on the core topics of the automotive industry. The event formats provide impetus for the important issues of future mobility. Experts and expertise, companies and young professionals & industry and science are networked there. These include - Car Symposium: An internationally renowned automotive congress with over 1,000 participants, 100 partner companies, 50 media representatives & C-level keynotes (BMW AG, Bosch, General Motors, Mercedes-Benz AG, Stellantis, Volkswagen AG, ZF etc.). The close networking between industry and science make the Car Symposium unique. - CAR Battery Day: A specialised congress on battery research, materials and cell production capacities for e-mobility. Meanwhile with a good 500 participants and almost 60 partners. - CAR IT Symposium: This symposium quickly established itself as a unique format for the increasingly important IT landscape in the automotive sector. - New Mobility World: A specialised congress on all aspects of automotive sales & marketing - Future Automotive Plastics: Of growing significance in the context of sustainability, topics of materials research in the field of plastics are the points of discussion. History The CAR Centre Automotive Research was founded in 2000 as a university institution. 2009 Relocation to the University of Duisburg-Essen. 2013 Foundation of the start-up D+S-Automotive GmbH and close cooperation with CAR. 2020 Repositioning Spin-off of the CAR Centre Automotive Research as a private-sector research institute and merger with D+S-Automotive GmbH.
