    Beyond Pressure

We develop wearable, textile-integrated tissue oxygenation and pressure sensors using the principle of near-infrared spectroscopy. Special fiber optics seamlessly integrated thin, wearable, adhesive sensors give users real-time feedback of their tissue oxygen saturation and pressure against the skin. This will allow the user to be aware of low-oxygenation conditions induced by high-pressure points, indicating they should move or be moved. Our technology will help prevent painful and dangerous pressure injuries/pressure ulcers from forming by allowing targeted intervention with minimal repositioning. This means giving back control to people spending their day in a wheelchair, such as paraplegics, by allowing them to take care of themselves while maintaining peace of mind that they are effectively avoiding pressure injuries. This means patients in beds can remain in comfortable positions and undergo minimal repositioning, increasing their quality of life and easing the burden on the nursing and care staff.
And that's just the beginning. At Sensawear, we are exploring new ways for people to benefit from our comfortable sensors every. From medicine to athletics, from astronauts to soliders; Sensawear provides continuous monitoring of the body's local response to oxygen-demanding environments and tasks. Early warnings are the key to effective prevention.
