    Through teaching and collaborative research, the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) discovers, designs and creates novel technologies and approaches to societal challenges—in service to the world, the nation, and our community. We bridge disciplines, both within engineering and the applied sciences and beyond, to prepare broadly trained leaders, to advance foundational science, and to achieve translational impact.

    SEAS is where engineering, foundational science and the liberal arts converge. Through education and research, we address global challenges and serve society.

    We offer undergraduate degree programs in Applied Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Engineering Sciences.

    Our doctoral and master’s degree programs lie at the interfaces of engineering, the applied sciences, and technology.

    Graduate students may work towards a Master of Science (M.S.), Master of Engineering (M.E.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in the following subjects—Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Computer Science, Computational Science and Engineering, Data Science, and Engineering Sciences (with specialties in four areas).

    Those students earning a degree in Engineering Sciences can specialize in one of the following areas:

    * Bioengineering
    * Electrical Engineering
    * Environmental Science and Engineering
    * Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering

    In keeping with the interdisciplinary nature of modern research, we do not have traditional academic departments and do not award degrees by specific research area.

    Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Environmental Science and Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, and Computational Science and Engineering
