[Automatic translation follows] Quarterly founded in 1980 aimed at making the Italian university reality known to the academic world and to those who work in universities in various capacities.
Higher education and scientific research are examined from different angles: from teaching problems to student conditions; from the evaluation of university systems and research to their financing; from the relationships of universities with the social and professional environment to legislative changes and administrative organisation.
The magazine especially takes into account the reforms underway in the university system and encourages the strengthening of universities' relations with productive institutions and society
UNIVERSITAS pays particular attention to the international scenario: from international inter-university cooperation to European Union programs, to the institutional comparison of the different higher education systems in Europe and on other continents; from the mobility of teachers and students to brain drain.

Trimestrale fondato nel 1980 rivolto a far conoscere la realtà universitaria italiana al mondo accademico e a quanti operano negli atenei a diverso titolo.
L’istruzione superiore e la ricerca scientifica sono esaminate sotto differenti angolature: dai problemi della docenza alla condizione studentesca; dalla valutazione dei sistemi universitari e della ricerca al loro finanziamento; dalle relazioni degli atenei con l’ambiente sociale e professionale ai cambiamenti legislativi e all’organizzazione amministrativa.
La rivista dà conto specialmente delle riforme in atto nel sistema universitario ed incoraggia il rafforzamento delle relazioni degli atenei con le istituzioni produttive e della società
Particolare attenzione UNIVERSITAS rivolge allo scenario internazionale: dalla cooperazione interuniversitaria internazionale ai programmi dell’Unione Europea, al raffronto istituzionale dei diversi sistemi di istruzione superiore in Europa e negli altri continenti; dalla mobilità di docenti e studenti al brain drain.
