Description
  • Value proposition

Endeavr commissions innovative & collaborative research projects that address challenges faced by industry.

Endeavr is a partnership between Airbus, Welsh Government and Cardiff University. The company commissions research and technology projects that address industry-led challenges. The innovative projects are funded 50:50 by Airbus and Welsh Government, with each project valued between £30,000 and £1 million.

Cardiff University represents all higher education institutions, helping to identify world class research expertise. And, as a member of the Board and Executive Committee, Cardiff University advises Endeavr on the academic quality of the research commissioned.

Since 2011, Endeavr has worked with business and academia on more than 40 R&T projects. The projects focus on a wide range of research areas including advanced engineering, energy systems, microelectronics, data analytics, communications and cyber security.

Business people and academics are encouraged to ‘pitch’ their proposals to Endeavr at any time of the year and are also encouraged to respond to the ‘challenge calls’ promoted by Endeavr.

The projects span from undertaking initial research to identify the user needs and market requirements through to exploration of potential solutions, proof-of-concept and the development of a minimum viable product or prototype.

The intellectual property is captured, valued by an independent party and sold to Airbus or a third party for commercial exploitation.

The strategic goal is to drive economic growth through the development of a world class research platform that supports high-value, high-skilled jobs in the advanced engineering sector.
