Le GEIQ embauche des personnes éloignées de l'emploi sur des contrats spécifiques, les met à disposition d'une de ses 35 entreprises adhérentes, organise la formation et assure un accompagnement individualisé. L’objectif final étant d'intégrer définitivement chaque personne dans l'une des entreprises adhérentes.
Au fil des années, le GEIQ a conclu un ensemble de partenariats institutionnels et privés qui contribue à son objectif. Il peut ainsi proposer des parcours aux jeunes sans qualification, aux bénéficiaires des minimas sociaux, d’acquérir une qualification dans la branche. Le groupement développe des actions innovantes dans le but d’induire de nouveaux comportements, la reconnaissance de la fonction tutorale, le développement de la formation continue.
